The Art of Storytelling: A Journey of Shared Experience
In partnership with the Caroline County Public Library, Liza explore s the art of storytelling as a foundational aspect of human connection and healing. Participants will be introduced into the world of story as a place where our individual life experiences merge with the collective, creating new pathways of empathy and understanding between us.
Engaging and entertaining, Liza will share stories that bridge the gap between past and present, where individuals from all walks of life can come together to celebrate the beauty and complexity of the human spirit.
Free and open to the public.

Spinning Tales along the Holy River
Spinning Tales along the Holy River is an evening of storytelling and music at Oakley Farm in Warm Springs, Virginia. Immerse yourself in captivating stories by Liza Newell woven from the currents of tradition and imagination, accompanied by musical duo Holy River’s ethereal soundscapes and transcendent melodies.
Come sit by the sacred currents and let your spirit be carried away by the rhythms and stories. Immerse yourself into a world of myth, memory, and wonder.
The event is ticketed for adults 18 and older (free for youth) and will be hosted at Oakley Farm, specific location TBA based on weather conditions. Limited space available.
The North Stable at Oakley Farm will be open Friday, April 18 from 4 - 8pm, with Troddenvale serving ciders and wines by the glass as well as a seasonal food menu. We encourage you to arrive early, so you have time to enjoy a bite to eat or grab a beverage before the evening’s program begins promptly at 6pm.

Mapping the Mythopoetic through Storytelling
This workshop explores the intersection of poetry, mythology, and personal narrative as a portal to our inner world. Rituals of spoken word and storytelling will guide participants into emergent landscapes where the “old stories” live; extending an invitation for individuals to consider the specificity and universality of their lives as a bridge connecting the deep past, the present, and the distant future.
This workshop is offered in partnership with the Richmond Poetry Festival. Registration is required although there is no fee to attend.

Creating Unity Through Song and Story
Communal singing and storytelling are humanity's oldest art forms. Both song and story invite us into experiences of unity, synchronicity, and imagination.
In collaboration with The Inner Work Center in Richmond, Virginia, Liza will lead participants through a journey of shared song, after which she will share humorous Irish folk tales to enliven your spirits.
